Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport
Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) is the Aegean region's main airport. Alongside very frequent domestic service to Istanbul and Ankara, SunExpress, AJet and Pegasus fly direct to many European cities; in summer it is also the gateway for holidaymakers heading to Çeşme and Kuşadası.
Because of the very high frequency on the Istanbul route, delays usually take the form of knock-on rotations. Growing international traffic in the summer season can also bring cancellations and schedule changes.
Flights to and from Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport are covered by Turkey's SHY-YOLCU regulation, and EU261 can also apply on Europe-linked services. On eligible flights, compensation ranges from €250 to €600 by distance and can be claimed up to 3 years back.
Compensation by distance
If your flight at ADB is delayed or cancelled
- Note the cause and length of the delay; ask the airline for a written statement.
- Keep your boarding pass, ticket and booking documents.
- Use the care the airline must provide — meals, communication and accommodation where applicable. Accepting them does not waive your compensation.
- Run a free 2-minute check with your flight details.
